Kellie's Castle at Batu Gajah , Perak

Last March school holiday , we went to my cousin's daughter wedding at Batu Gajah , Perak . We booked a homestay at Baju Gajah town . We rented it for RM180 for 2D1N . The house is clean , comfortable and have 4 bedrooms . I booked this homestay via wazzup after doing some google through the website " homestay at Batu Gajah " . The name of the homestay is " D'Batu Gajah homestay " . The owner is known as En Mie . He is nice young man but unfortunately , I didn't meet him in person . Anyhow we love the place . Recommend this homestay to whom like to have holiday or function  in Batu Gajah .


Since the location not very far from Kellie's Castle ,  we have the opportunity to visit the place . This is one of the historical and tourist area in Perak . This castle is famous with mysterious story and if I'm not mistaken a film was shot regarding this castle . During my visit there was a drawing competition which was  organised by Tourism Malaysia . So we can find many people on that day .

Below is the entrance fee for the visitor :
1. Parking fee  :  RM2.00
2. Kellie's Castle entrance fee  :  RM5.00  ( Malaysian Adult with Mykad )
                                                :   RM3.00  ( Malaysian kid with Mykad )



For info. this is our first time visit to this place . From my observation this place is worth for visit , very clean and well preserved building with an European art design in Malaysian ground . If you like to buy a souvenir ,  there are some souvenir shop available and food court to cater your hunger and thirst .

The D'Art Hotel a new branch at section 19 , Shah Alam

Stayed here for 3D2N . This is new D'Art hotel chains which located at section 19 , Shah Alam . The location is peaceful and near to private hospital , De Palma and Metro Inn hotel . It is also near to Shell petrol station and eating places . We booked for a family room . The room was very spacious with two comfortable  queen size bedroom .

We stayed here because it is near to my eldest son rental  house at section 18 . He moving out from his UiTM hostel since being semester 4 student , the university didn't provide the hostel for the senior So his cost of living will getting higher compared to the previous semester . But it is ok , for the sake of education , as a parents , we have to sacrifice by increasing his monthly allowances . Whats' the most important for him is to study hard and smart with doa to Allah SWT for the flying colour result .

We spends the day by "makan-makan" , some shoppings and taking some picture as our memories in Shah Alam .

Family gathering at MAEPS Serdang Selangor

An awesome family gathering organised by my sister in law at MAEPS recently . She booked the area for 1 day with the fee of RM300 . Total of 5 families get together during the occasion .

It is host to MAHA, as well as more industry-focused events and activities developed to promote the agriculture industry to the Malaysian public. The exhibition park resides on a 130 hectares land belonging to the Malaysian Research and Development Institute (MARDI). As one of the largest exhibition park and showground, MAEPS is the driving force behind the success of the agricultural industry in Malaysia. 1. BBQ - chicken , lamb
2. lunch - Nasi Arab , cookies and fruits
3. taking bath at the small waterfall.
4. Cycling .


We really enjoyed ourselves and the most important it bring more closeness between us as one big family . Hope to keep this activity as our yearly agenda . Thanks to the organizer .

Conclusion and observation :
1. MAEPS : suitable place for family gathering .
2. My youngest son injured his knee after falling off his bicycle . It is advisable to bring 1st aid kit while attending family gathering since no 1st aid kit available at the MAEPS administrative and security office . Recommended to the MAEPS authority to look seriously on this matter .

Stayed at Sunway Putra Hotel and shopping at Sunway Putra Mall

Spends 3D2N  holiday at Kuala Lumpur during Chinese new year recently . We stayed at our favourite Sunway Putra Hotel . The location is fantastic , near to the mall, PWTC , Seri Pacific hotel and LRT station . It is the most convenient hotel for me since it is considered as our first pit stop for our entering point at Kuala Lumpur . Normally we park our car and disembark to other places by public transport , further more the parking is  free for hotel guest . We love this hotel because of that reason .


The hotel had completed 100% of their refurbishing and newly room upgrade just  a few month ago  . Its share with the same building of newly opening Sunway Putra Mall where you can do shopping till you drop without leaving your hotel . There are a lot of retails that the mall can offers such as shirts , shoes , cinema , eating places and others . Those who like savvy dress can do shopping at HM and  UNIQLO .

For muslim  who want to do Friday prayer , you can walk towards PWTC where you can find big surau which  performed Friday prayer and other 5 times prayer " berjemaah " . Also  hotel's surau and mall's surau as another alternative to do your solat . Malaysia actually muslim friendly country which provides places for solat almost everywhere , and halal foods .


Note :
Since the government already  increase the fare of public transport ie LRT and monorel by certain % . It is advisable to purchase " pre-load card " or search for their website  which offers some discount .
If you travel with a family of 5 person or more  , it is advisable to take a taxi or UBER since it is more economical . We can feel the "pinch" when we using LRT and Monorel to and fro from hotel to KL Sentral  , its cost us RM80 for 6 person ... compared previously in the range of RM40  .

A legend kopitiam in Kemaman

Hai Peng Kopitiam , the real legend kopitiam in Kemaman .  Kemaman is a small town which have an easy and less stressful  life and it do have some many kopitiams .

Hai Peng ,most famous to the locals and tourist and it is must visit kopitiam while you are in Kemaman . You can feel a real multi racial Malaysian atmosphere over here where you can find , malay , chinese and indian enjoying sipping their homemade coffee . So enjoy yourself
