KOSMA Business Hotel @ Kuantan

Its' a month of Ramadhan now , which is a fasting month for the muslim . There is sunat Terawih prayer nightly performed during this month till  Syawal , where at 1st of Syawal , muslim celebrate their Aidil Fitri .

So , where is the best place to stay in Kuantan during Ramadhan  , near eating places which is convenient  to break fast or iftar , near surau/mosque for  prayer/solat  and near shopping mall or complex to do shopping for Aidilfitri ?

My recommendation is KOSMA Business Hotel . It is a budget hotel . I booked for family room which consist of 2 connecting rooms , 1 queen bedroom and 2 single bedroom . Situated at golden triangle of Kuantan which is near to Tepian Putra Mosque , East Coast Mall , Berjaya Mall and restaurants . The location really strategic and just a walking distant to those places especially the mosque , it's just your next door . During my stayed , my kids and I performed  our Solat Isyak , Terawih and Subuh at this mosque  .

We do our shopping at East Coast Mall and break our fast at Berjaya Mall . You can follow my footstep if you wants  .............

Tourism Tax affective by this coming August ?

LATEST UPDATE :
On Wednesday ( August '17) , Nazri announced in Parliament that Malaysians would be exempted from tourism tax. Foreign tourists will be charged a flat rate of RM10 per room per night for all hotel classifications, but this is not applicable to premises with five or fewer rooms as well as homestays and village stays.

................................................................................................................................................................

KUALA LUMPUR: The implementation of the Tourism Tax (TTx) will begin on August 1 this year, as announced by the Customs Department on their website.
Prior to the enforcement date, operators of accommodation premises are required to register their businesses starting July 1.
Regulated by the Finance Ministry and the Customs Department, the tax is charged at a specific rate on tourists staying at any accommodation premises provided by an operator of the said accommodation premises.
These accommodation premises are buildings including hostels, hotels, inns, boarding-houses, rest houses and lodging houses, held out by the proprietor, owner or manager, either wholly or partly, as offering lodging or sleeping accommodation to tourists for hire or any other form of reward, whether or not food or drink is also offered.
Tourist accommodation premises are any accommodation which have been registered by the Commissioner under subsection 31C (1) Tourism Industry Act 1992.
It is stated in the announcement that this tax is implemented using a mechanism of cooperation between the government and the industry to enhance tourism experience for tourists.
Tax returns will be used to develop the tourism industry, namely the enhancement of tourism infrastructure and facilities, tourism promotional activities and campaigns.
Implementation of this tax is also an effort to protect, preserve and conserve Mother Nature, culture and heritage for the benefit of the present and future generations.
According to the announcement, tax rate is fixed at RM20 per room per night (five-star), RM10 per room per night (four-star), RM5 per room per night (one-, two- and three-star), RM2.50 per room per night (one, two and three Orchid) and RM2.50 per room per night (non-rated accommodation premises).
Whether Malaysian nationals or otherwise, a “tourist” defines any persons visiting any place in Malaysia for purposes including recreation or holiday, culture, religion, visiting friends or relatives, sports, business, meetings, conferences, seminars or conventions, studies or research, any other purpose which is not related to an occupation that is remunerated from the place visited.
Under the TTx, the registered operator is liable to collect tourism tax from a tourist upon his or her departure and pay the tourism tax collected to the Customs Department in respect of his taxable period.
The announcement also stated that an exemption of the tourism tax is available for ‘homestay’ registered with Ministry of Tourism and Culture (Motac), ‘kampung stay’ registered with Motac, accommodation premises established and maintained by religious institutions not for commercial purposes or accommodation premises with less than 10 rooms.
Accommodation premises operated by the Federal Government, State Government or statutory body for training, educational or accommodation not for commercial purposes are also eligible for the exemption.

Opinion :

THE TOURISM TAX COMES AT A BAD TIME

THE business sector is almost dry from being squeezed by the multitude of extractions introduced by the Government, from outrageous fees for out-sourcing, levies and business licences to contributions in the employment insurance scheme, increased coverage for Socso, and etc.
And now there is tourism tax.
No doubt room tax/ tourism tax is imposed in some countries but this is the worst time to introduce it here as our economy is going through very tough and challenging times, with inflationary pressures due to the increasing cost of doing business and limited improvements in productivity.
The proposed RM20 per room-night tax translates to at least 6% of the room rates based on our low average room rate achievable.
There wasn’t any complementary relief for personal tax nor corporate tax when GST was introduced. At the moment, our tax rate is already misaligned with our neighbouring countries. Even traditionally high-tax countries like Britain and Indonesia have also reduced their rates to 20%.
Although the Government may argue that more tax revenue is needed to plug the deficit, we expect it to also tighten the belt in the same way the business sector has been doing to get through these challenging times.
Don’t let yet another untimely additional cost of doing business become the proverbial burden that breaks the camel’s back.

The Haven Ipoh ... the luxury in the green nature !

The Haven Ipoh , one of the most luxuries condotel for family holiday  situated at Tambun , Perak .  It is about 8.8km from bandar raya Ipoh  and not very far from an exit of North South Highway to Tambun .  This area not only famous with limau bali or the limestone hill , it is also a fast development area for tourist attraction . Beside The Haven ,  there are 2 more others  attractions nearby for tourist to have their holidays such as Lost World in Tambun and  The Banjaran . This is a place where the families or honeymoon couple can spend their time enjoying the water parks , spa , sauna and the green nature .

At The Haven Ipoh , right from the 1st entrance of main gate , they welcome you at the warmest and you feel like at home . A quick brief by the security officer on the condotel procedure , do and don'ts plus giving you the guide the way to drive until you reached the condotel which is another 0.5KM  distant inside .

Once you reached the hotel compound , there are 3 main block building , standing tall in front of you and the other opposite side , they are facing to the lake and limestone forest hill . This limestone forest hill is already by the aged of 280 millions year . The view really awesome especially during sunset .

The hotel staff are very friendly . They greet and welcome you with a special herba drinks . Our room that we booked a  3 bedroom apartments which is very clean , spacious , beautiful and comfortable . There are enough kitchenette if you want to cook or just to prepared a cup of coffee or tea . View from our room , they are really  fantastic  . Also you can see a huge swimming pool with the shape of seahorse , the lake and the limestone hill .  Something good for the guest here , the swimming pool opens until 10 pm , so  this a plus point to the kids who loves water very much .  Others than that you can jogging along the trek they provided which is surrounding the lake .  Along the trek , they also planted a lot of herba trees with names on placard which is good interesting educational to you and to your kids . There are also monkeys available but be cautious not to feed the monkeys or they may attack you . Other interesting things for your kids there are a dinosaur at the garden where you can take selfie or welfie .

How about the foods ?  We only took the breakfast . The taste was marvellous . All the foods they prepared are without MSG . The chef said their vegetables are organic and the eggs are " telor ayam kampung " . The waiter and waitress are very humble and friendly too .

We really recommend this place which you can feel like living in the limestone forest which ONLY can be found in Tambun , Perak , Malaysia .

One of the best condotel in Kuala Lumpur ... THe Fraser Residence

The Fraser Residence is one of the best hotel with apartment/condo concept that I ever stayed in Kuala Lumpur . Situated near Bukit Nenas Monorel station . The area is very strategic , just a walking distant to Bukit Nenas city forest  , MATIC ( Malaysian Tourist Info Center ) and KL Tower , where one of tourist attraction in Kuala Lumpur .

Those who loves shopping , you can also put your walking gear  and walk to near by , Quilt Shopping Mall and Malaysian's famous KLCC . With current Malaysian currency , its really a must buy  for tourist to do shopping until you drops .

Beside that those who would like to have a real Malaysian foods , just go and walk around to area Kampong Baru and choose the restaurant / warung  that served the menu that you like .

Back to The Fraser Residence , the room that they offered is very comfortable . Its' come together with kitchen and laundry washer . Really recommended for those who like to cook and do your own laundry . We also love the hotel huge swimming pool , the sky gym and most important their roof top deck . You can have a nice KL view from this deck especially the view of beautiful and colorful  KLCC during night time . Not to forget the foods that the hotel served for breakfast is marvellous . But we recommended the guest to go early for breakfast since the hotel normally full of guests . Have a try and have a good experienced like we do ....   cheers !
