Holiday in Ho Chi Minh ..... Day 2

Day 2 :

In HCM , Suboh time is at 5 am , so we wake up early to perform Suboh prayer . After pray we wash ourself and going for breakfast at the hotel restaurant . Actually this hotel provide the halal foods special for muslim . The foods quiet ok eventhough the choice is limited . After breakfast , we wait for our travel agent TNK Travel at the lobby to bring us to the Delta Mekong trip . My kids really looking forward for the visit .

The tourist guide come to pick us up at the hotel at 7:30 am . We take the bus to TNK Travel office where we get down and took different bus with others tourist to proceed to the location name Mytho where the Delta Mekong is . By the way there are a lot of European tourist sharing the same bus with us . The bus journey took for 2 hours with one stop in between for 20 min . The Mekong river , the longest river in Indochina , is divided into nine tributaries within Vietnam and spans the vast Mekong Delta . The Delta often is often referred to as the "rice bowl " as it produces three harvests per year and the garden of heaven because of its rich soil which is ideal for growing fruits , vegetables and flowers . Riverbands are laden with coconut palms , rice fields , orchards and stilted houses .

After 2 hours , finally we reached our destination . The 1st stop is at the fruits plantation orchard where we were served with a seasonal fruits plate with tea per person . While eating , we have a chit chat with a couple from USA , California which originally from South Korea , really nice to know them . After eating , the lady with three musicians performed us with a traditional Vietnamese songs . Eventhough we did'nt understand but we really enjoyed the songs . At last , the audience including me did donate some money for appreciation .

Next we move to the small alley by walking along the small traditional Vietnamese village . What I feel , the wheather here is dry and more hotter compared to Malaysia . Then we take hand-rowed sampan , enjoy cruising under the shadows of the water coconut trees along the natural canals . We visited a family business which epitomizes the idyllic rural lifestyle , taste delicious coconut candy and observe the pastoral life as you roam through the plantation and village .

After that we proceed to Tortoise islet by boat , have lunch in the orchard garden . They prepared seafoods and vegetarians for us as we booked for halal dishes . The taste really delicious and it is ok for us , good experience to have Vietnamese way of cooking ... the flying fish , the fried shrimp etc Then we ride back the boat back to the mainland jetty . Meet the bus , visit Vinh Trang Pagoda , finally return back to HCM .

We arrived HCM at 8 pm , before return back to our hotel , we went to Champa Muslim Restaurant for our dinner . We choose white rice with 3 others selection , chicken soup , fried chicken and kangkung belacan plus drinks which cost us 300,000VND . The taste of the foods is delicious but the coffee a little bit bitter .. more tasteful at Hjh Basiroh restaurant .

Went back to the hotel . The receptionist asked us , how our visit ? and the answer is marvellous ... and now we booked for Chu Chi tunnel half a day package for tomorrow visit .... also through her , with the same travel agent TNK Travel with special rate 13USD per person but this time without lunch .....
